I might have one original key for the bag mount locks, it says VF-103, this looks a lot like my old 250 Honda key, offset and double sided.

Looks like the only VF master that we will need will be the VF107 after mine is turned in.Gee this is kinda exciting, can we do it:)
Got another web site or two to try for the 107.

Problem is, won't do us much good if we can't identify/acquire a blank to duplicate them.:(

The one I hand made was with a YM57 blank. Not pretty, but it works. I have no idea what the original key looked like. :(

I wonder if the lock would have a name on it or if Vetter might remember who he bought them from.
If we can't find a blank I will go ahead and turn mine in.
Looks easy enough to get it open with out a key, will go and try when I am able.

From what I found:
RO1 substitute key is Y11
RO10 substitute key is RO1
Y11 substitute key is IN8 or RO1
Looks like the single sided keys can be cut on one of several similar, if not the same, key blanks. ;)

Double sided Illinois (like AVetterXS's F205 key)#110 or IL1, or 1041H, or ILL1. Different key blank vendors use different key numbers making things complicated.

The VF-xxx keys, I still have no clue.:(

Found this place, not sure if they are talking about the same type of keys (CxxxA series) as there is no actual photo of the keys. I don't believe getting a blank cut here in the UK is going to be easy!

This is my trunk key although I would be reluctant to part with it without finding a suitable blank supplier here in the UK.

Does this look like an original?

The one behind it is the original Kawasaki key, just seen one of these used on Ebay for $240, maybe I should be looking for a spare blank for that one as well.

So do we know what we are doing yet? I am willing to send my key even without a copy.I think.
Still pondering the situation. It will be warm saturday and I will see if I can open it without a key.
Or did somebody find a blank and I missed the post or misread one or just forgot?

I am still working on the blanks, my locksmith friend has been out and I have been up to my butt in work. I should have info this coming week Steppen.

I want to see if I can find blanks for all these masters. If we don't have blanks then the master ring won't be of much use.

In the beginning of my cutting keys by code for the early Goldwings, I stepped into a deal on the tools and a collection of OEM factory cut keys. The sellers had purchased the building contents of a defunct dealership. Little did I know, if it was a key from the building, (motorcycle, car, padlock, cabinet, locker, paper towel dispenser, etc.) it got sent (~2000 keys).

Most of the OEM motorcycle keys (~1800) I sold off in bulk to free up cash for my code cutting supplies. The other types of keys I still have. ~50 'could' be aftermarket luggage keys. Many Hudson, Chicago, National, and no name keys that may or may not have been to Vetter (or other) accessories.

None of the keys I have look anything like the "VF-xxx" keys pictured in this thread. I suspect the Yamaha key I used, was for "VF-xxx" locks (that I had no keys to) and the extra groove in the "VF-xxx" keys are not needed. But that's just a guess as I have nothing to verify with.

Ron, the Hudson keys seem to have some potential. Do you have Hudson blanks? I have two Hudson keys here that fit Vetter stuff. Ill post a pic of them. Thats for sharing the info.

I do not have any cabinet lock key blanks. I think I found a blank for the VF-xxx keys, National Cabinet Lock D8777. Not having cut keys nor blanks in hand, I can't be 100% sure though. An Ilco 1527 may also work and be more readily available.

So I see 4 different blanks needed depending on the code.

1. VF-xxx - D8777 or 1527
2. CxxxA - RO15 or N1069N
3. Fxxx - 110 or IL1 or 1041H or IL1
4. most other codes - Y11 or IN8 or 1502 or CG16 or ES8 or 1041T or L1054B or RO1 or RO10

Not to be 'Mr Negative', I like the idea but,

1. If every possible code is not included in the 'set', it still may not have the key you need for your locks.
2. Replaced locks, by previous owners, from who knows where, over the years throws another hurdle.
3. A lot of the code series have hundreds of possible codes which would be a lot of keys for a full set of known OEM key code series.
4. Shipping that many keys can add up in cost, and still no guarantee of having a key that fits.
5. Duplicating that many keys will also add up.
6. "A deposit for twice the cost of the duplicates ring (TBD) and postage" If the set is anywhere near complete, that can be an exorbitant amount. We are NOT looking @ $20 or $30 here.

I don't have a better idea, but without more information I don't see this project as economically viable.
