So, I thought I would take some up close photos of my NOS Vetter goodies. A good way to see details of the items in mint condition.

Today I am officially a Vetter owner! (What else do I have to do to get a patch:))

My Quicksilver fairing, and yes it ended up being a Nightstalker, just arrived! I greedily unpacked it before dinner on the table, which probably bothered my wife considerably. She kept asking about the price and shaking her head:). Milwaukee Cycle did a good job packing, but the fairing wasn't in exactly the shape I had hoped, some scratches and a chip, wear on the gold piping and the decals might not have a long life on the fairing. I still like it well enough to mount it and after all is said and done it will match the state of the bike very well.

However, there is a problem. When I opened up the box and pulled out instruction paper, as you'll see below, it isn't the exact right one for my bike. It's for a Nighthawk 550 and my bike is the Nighthawk 650. Does anyone know if this makes any difference or not? Should I send it back or what?

And of course here's the crude unpack vid:

Not sure about the frame differences for the mounting bracket. That is all that would be different. Hold it up to the frame and see what you get. The fairing isn't any different, just the bracket.

I got the bracket to fit, not totally satisfied with the fit but it will probably be close enough (required some bending:(). Crappy lowlight picture attached.

Can you take some other pictures and include some side shots? I am not familiar with the QS mounting, so I am not sure if it is the low light or not, but the angles do not appear correct in that picture.

I got it all figured out finally and it worked nicely. I think it looks good on the bike:).

A long-established generality is that the windscreen should be at the same angle as the forks; i.e., on a parallel plane.

Mine went on pretty much parallel to my forks, but I sure didn't see any options to change that, it was just the only way to put it on. The height of the windscreen ended up being pretty darn near perfect too. Can't wait to take the nighthawk out for a ride and see what the fairing actually does.

I couldn't get these Quicksilver mounting instructions to upload into an album so here goes... Check out the date on the instruction, pretty cool almost matches my Nighthawk.

I just bought this beauty on eBay and while I obviously love the Quicksilver I am wondering will any Vetter fairing fit on the above mount? Can I, say, take off the Quicksilver and plop a Windjammer on this bike without having to get a new mount?

My initial thought is that it is not going to match right up to the WJ because of the different sizes between the fiarings. However, with a few modifications, it may work. I am just not familiar with how the QS mount is made or if it is strong enough to support the WJ.
