A friend of mine that passed recently had given me this crazy fairing. I fell in love with it when I saw it hanging in his garage on the wall. It had been there for many years. I remember Carl aways calling it the "French Fairing". I saw a pic of him in the early days with it on his RD350.

Anybody else know anything about it or have seen one? It's really weird looking with all the curves. I have a rubber bezel for the headlight too.

One thing is for sure when it comes to fairings: just when you think you have seen all there is to see, someone will show you something new. I have never seen one like this before.

WOW! That's a new for me and I have been around slightly longer than most of you.

What you have there is a Lexan® (polycarbonate) Hugon. I remember seeing one at the LA MC Tradeshow in 1980. It was one of the few new products there that wasn't a splash off of a WJ. It is French; or was... it didn't do well in the marketplace. One sold recently (2013) on FleaBay for $500.

It's a limited edition Hailwood Yamaha "Martini" fairing: '79-'82. Designed by John Mockett and manufacturered in the UK. Martini was a Yamaha sponsor at the time; Mike Hailwood was the pilot. Would have looked "better" with the Terraplane II hooked up to it.
