Learning the Ropes
Are there any props out there to keep the trunk open or is there a good after market alternative?
My old one did the same thing... it is because the spring is pre-formed from being bent for so many years. I just reversed how it was bent, and it worked fine. Those spring can be temperamental too. I have a trunk that the spring is slightly bent and doesnt stay open so well. It just collapses. We need to make a little hydraulic arm for the Vetter trunks.
So as I'm an old dufferI'm envisioning a spring like on an old wooden screen door on a house. The one about waist level that a kid (me) would irritate my parents with.
