Vetter noob looking for basic disassembly help

MagnAndy here - hi all! I have a Slipstreamer V that I plan to mount on my 1984 Honda V65 Magna. Not new to bikes but this is my first Vetter.

First the Vetter needs to be stripped apart thoroughly cleaned and everything made to work. I have a new windshield and new vents that I need to drill the holes for - not a high priority. Right now I could use advice on (a) how to remove the signal covers and rest of the signals and (b) how the pivot bolts are secured inside the fairing (I.e. A nut or?) because one of my bolts just spins and will not unscrew. I need to remove the headlight housing to work on the adjuster.

I have downloaded the owners manual but it is silent about removing the signals. Next time I get to it I will try removing the two nuts at the rear of the units.

Any help will be appreciated.

If you remove the left and right side covers, you will see something similar to this on the inside of the fairing:

Those two nuts hold the housing in the fairing. In some cases, two sided tape may also be holding it in at places to.

Thanks for confirming! Those should come off in a jiffy now that I know.

Any idea about the headlight pivot bolt "nut"?

Priceless!! And timely too - last weekend I was with the fairing and working on it and I unscrewed the adjuster "all the way" until the threads were about to vanish into the nut in the bucket and something told me to wait and do some research first. Your info has prevented me from getting myself into a mess - thanks!!!!

All I need now is to get that last nut secured so that I can remove the pivot bolt and pull the bucket out. I will take my inspection cam and have a look at it that way to see what I need to do.

It helps when you have torn a few of these apart in the past... The scary part is when you start to see what others have done to them!
