I'll take the black one as long as shipping is reasonable. You can tell me and everyone else what shipping will be if you can find a box it will go in and take it to the Post Office, UPS, or whatever other shipper you use and let them weight and measure it. Be sure to tell them to add a couple of pounds for whatever type of packing material you plan to use. Also be sure and remove the lights, lid, and passenger pad and pack them inside the tail box. I know they all fit inside as they shipped them with that stuff packed inside. I don't need the metal frame and rubber mounts so you could sell that stuff to someone else. I already have the frame and I would go ahead and install new rubber mounts. Also leaving out the metal frame would save shipping cost for me. If or when you sell the other box and they want the metal frame you'll need to remove it and pack it inside the tail box like the lights, pad, and lid. Anyway, just let my know what it's going to cost to ship it and I'll decide if it's going to be worth the $40 plus whatever shipping is going to cost me.Here are some pictures (http://s1382.photobucket.com/user/rocketjocky76/library/Vetter trunks) if you'd like more, better, or of something particular please let me know I'll do what I can.
I'm located in central Ohio not sure what shipping will be but if you give me an address I can find out.
As for price I'd like to get $40 but I am willing to hear offers. Both come with older rubber mounts and the metal frame to attach it to a luggage rack.
That's what I kind of expected. Fairings and Saddlebags must go freight and cost even more to ship. They actually cost more to ship today than they are worth. That Top Box was the only item that was somewhat reasonable to ship back then. It was an optional item on Kawasaki bikes that came with Kawasaki Vetter touring gear. People would buy the bike and then order the top box if they wanted it. The dealer would ship it to their home address.Scott-E, it looks like the shipping is going to be about $40.... it was a wake up call for me, I had no idea it was going to be soo much. I looked at all three UPS, USPS and FedEx. Let me know if you're still interested.
Got it and it's been answered. Thanks! Now I'll have a matching Top Box for my Windjammer Fairing and Saddlebags. I'm using a Pelican Box at this time but that Vetter Box is going to look a lot better.Sending email....
I just sent you a letter via the post office. You should get it in a few days.Sending email....
I hope my black one survives shipping! I'm sure someone will take that Kawasaki labelled top box. Those Kawasaki emblems are easy to remove. Plastic nuts on the inside hold them on so they come off easy. If that's the only reason someone thinks those are a problem, there not.Well guys the black one is gone anyone for the other?
Where Larry? Where do you come up with this stuff?
And?! And?!. . . he asked if I was interested in a Vetter "trunk" they had in the back.
I told him I was interested so he brought it out. Like I said, it was missing the base mount and it's door. The only part of the door that remained was the two torn peaces of half of each of the hinges. I'm going to go pick it up tomorrow. I didn’t have room in the trailer for it after picking up my friends used parts. I was amazed it didn’t have any cracks or holes where the bunkies are attached to the tail box. And?! And?!
