I am retired, yet never enough time to play! Picked up a 1975 Gl1000, Now I can play out in the garage bringing back to life again. Gave up biking about 20 years ago. Now it looks as I am back into it again. Money: you cant take it with you, so blow it now!

Welcome to the forum Doc! Careful with the GoldWing... They tend to populate the shop.

Welcome to the forum DocR!

Yet another GoldWinger! We need more XS Guys!

You have a Windjammer for the GL?

A few days ago I drove 887 miles and picked up a Jammer, bags and trunk. I have the jammer mounting frame I need. Everthing came off a 87 Goldwing, so I will end up looking for the bag mounts for an 75 Gl1000- or fire up the welder and make what I have fit. I had a 75 GL1000 for about 25 years and then gave it up. Still kept my leather jacket and chaps all these years, it's getting time to dust them off again (pressure wash them if needed- as per my wife.) I used to ride from April-Nov, kind of hard with our weather up here.
I will try to get on Market Place and con one of you FINE guys out of the 75-79 bag mounting frames that are stashed in the back of there garage, under five pounds of dust and mouse nests. I am in the hold mode now waiting for parts to come in for the bike.

Are you saying that you have a Windjammer mount that fits a 1200 and are looking for a mount that fits a 1000?

Brian: The Vetter bag mounts that I got with my bags came off a 1983 Goldwing. I own a 1975 Gl1000 bike that I need to find bag mounts for.
I am all set up with the Jammer mount to fit my GL1000.(Flea Bay find)

My bag mounts were from a 1000. When I had them on my 1100, I just had to notch out the hole where it attaches at the grab-rail and nothing else was needed to make the 1000's fit an 1100, so that would mean the 1100's are too long for the 1000? Do I have that right?

I know when I converted everything to fit my 1200, everything had to change so cutting/welding was required to the mounts and the bumperto get everything to fit just right.
