couple of my Vetter in action

Loved the 850, although I had so many issues with the transmission. I had no first gear until I rebuilt it, then I lost 2nd gear! I ended up selling it and getting a XS1100.

Second gear issue was a problem for a lot of bikes that were "beat" a little.I still have original tranny.I ride on the easy side.I only have 85k on mine due to not enough time to ride. This year I have not ridden since april 7th,health issues and it maybe another year before I ride again:(
That had an oil cooler on it from the factory if I remember right....I didn't like that fact..ran hot in my mind .

Not the warmest of days to be riding but a little snow and salt...I was warm more or less..no electrical vests or gloves.

I bought a set early summer and used them this fall, they sure made a difference. My hands stayed warm, even without gloves. The were a little awkward to use at first, but I got used to them quickly. A pair usually goes for about $50 on E-bay.

I have not ridden since april 7th this year after a SWOXS man cave day.I fell getting off my bike and dropped it,luckily I still had helmet, gloves and road jacket on,no damage. 10.0 from the judges on skill level on drop but deducted 8 points for language after words:(
Have not needed good bike gloves in awhile but I hope to be riding again in a year or two.
I get a new right knee feb 3rd and then some major work on my left foot before I can ride again, may need a three wheeler.

Bike is fine and I am fine,no damage as I was dismounting at the time and not moving.
I have a right knee and left foot problem which is pretty bad right now and makes riding very unsafe but I hope to have part of the problem fixed before spring and then...I am not too sure but I am gonna ride again on my 11:D

The Terraplane is another of those rare Vetter options, since only about a thousand were made. I got lucky to find one and at a reasonable cost.

What is reasonable? Seems that $2000 is the norm for the ones I see. I am not a sidecar person, but a Terraplane is the only one I would own. I only paid $1700 for my GL1100. I can't justify paying more for the sidecar than what I paid for the bike.

The average price is usually around $1500, but like anything the price is determined by the condition of the unit. I paid $350 for mine but it needed a tire ($100), brakes rebuilt ($100), a windshield ($150), and the seat reupholstered ($300). Plus a few minor parts, bushings and such. So it all depends on the work and money you want to put in it. I like the sidecar cause it's a novelty item that few have, and it's fun to take others who have never or will never get a chance to ride in one.

$350 plus parts and labor is my kind of price. I am not afraid to get dirty and enjoy it, so I just have to keep looking for a deal like that!
