I really like the look of the quicksilver.
I'd love to have one. Heh.

Too bad the mounts are specific to the fairing.

Sent using Tapatalk 4 on my phablet Note 2

The Quicksilver is a very cool fairing. According to Craig's site the Quicksilver fairing was produced from 1979 to 1984 with a total if of 40k being made. They are pretty rare now days, I don't even see them come across eBay very often.

My favourite Windjammer ?

The Windjammer III on my T150 Trident !!

By the way guys, it's spelt with a "u" - favourite ...... ;)

John Young is a Brit. The Brits are quite fond of the letter "u" after an o. LOL. ;)

LOL !!

You guys over there need to remember that we're only lending you our language ......

One day (and if you keep abusing it by missing out the odd "u" or reversing "re" into "er" ), we might just decide to take it back from you - then you'll be scuppered !!;)

Ya'll are a riot!

I have a 4, so what else... however, if I could get my hands on 2 or a 3 i would be happier than a pig in mud. The way those turn signals look and the lines of the decals on the 3 just scream cool!

I think my favorite is the SS. I like the turn signals externally mounted, however it I think it was incredible when they became mounted in the fairing. Makes you look less like a cop too! o_O

Correct me if I am wrong please, but this Yamaha fairing was made by Vetter, right? I know it's not the Pacifico which was also available. My brother had one on his '79 XS11, and I was sure it was a Vetter.

If so, this is my favorite!

I am not an expert on that specific fairing. Other guys here may have a more detailed answer. I do not believe this was a Vetter fairing. However, it is a very Windjammer like design. I think Vetter only did fairings for Kawasaki and Honda (Hondaline) that were branded as the bike manufacture.

My brother tells me it is in fact a Vetter fairing(he's had 3 of them). He's e-mailed Craig before, and was told it was made by Vetter, after he sold the company.

Based upon the XS1100G Standard, Yamaha This touring package was manufacttured by Pacifico for Yamaha. This 2nd generation Touring Package was sold by dealers as an option in '80 for the XS1100G Std. The '81 was named the XS1100H Venture. Bike was only sold with thispackage, not an option. While this bike doesn't have the V4 engine introduced in the new Venture in 1983, it is nonetheless considered by many to be the first real touring package introduced by Yamaha.

This one in the Pacifico fairing, the one you have pictured is Vetter, I'm not sure who made the bags, and trunk, definately not Vetter.

Interesting debate. However, I don't think it was Vetter designed, perhaps Vetter inspired. I am going to do some further research before I put my foot in my mouth. :bankhead:

I'm not trying to debate, I merely like the Yamaha fairing's design, and always assumed it was a Vetter. I will check back with my brother regarding Vetter badging on them, as he has owned 3 of the fairings. It would be nice to get to the truth.
At the very least it was a copy of the Vetter design, on the inner shell, tweaked on the outer shell, after Craig sold the company.
