well my second childhood has officially begun..... I am working to resurrect a 1978 gl1000 with full vetters......it makes noise and there is sanding and painting occurring...... decals from craig and carol.......let the games begin

well this is going to be an onion restoration.......im gonna do it in layers......the top end has been tended to by pistol pete... and I have 400 bucks worth of candy Antares red paint heading in from Illinois......then its belts and point.....tires.....

then its ride it time.... with an eye to resurfacing the brake calipers (truedisc.net) and a fork brace.....

if all of that goes swell..... we will look to digging a little deeper....

I actually have 2 identical 78 wings..... the other is my donor bike.......but it only has 17k miles on it..... but it sat out in the weather for awhile........it might be a candidate for a nekked wing sometime way down the road....

and (as paul Harvey used to say) now u know the rest of the story

Welcome to the forum! The nice thing about old Wings is that you never really need to go too deep to have something that will give you a realiable bike. Cards + Pistol Pete = check that one off the list. Belts, check that one off the list. Get out and ride it and see what it does and work at it slowly.
