First time I have had a chance to see one of these close up, there a 4 "dimples" inside the front of the fairing and 2 more by the name badge, do these have a function such as drilling points when fitting extras like sound system or are they just moulding marks? I am sure one of you knowledgeable gentlemen will be able to help please?

Not sure about the ones by the name plate, but the ones in the front are the location for bolt hole when mounting Kawasaki hardware (requires a seperate bracket) or the Fiamm Horns ( a nice addition) .

Strange that Kawasaki decided on a different mounting location for a fairing that already had a tried and tested mount, seems like a lot of weight to "hang" off a bracket rather than being supported from below? Were there any problems with the WJ mount flexing and trying to lift the original mount due to the front wind pressure? Or maybe they had plans to use it as a universal mount for a number of different fairings some of which did not have the bottom mounting location?

I think it was more a matter of Craig deciding on the means to mount the fairing and it quite possibly had to do with the size of the tank on some of the bigger Kawi's or other obstructions to his "normal" mounting procedure.

Found this pic of the Kawasaki front WJ mounts in place using the dimple holes.
