My first bike that was all mine was this baby...

The a three speed with a banana seat and high bars was next but then as I turned 16 I got a Honda 160 Dream...wow my first REAL bike...but then a '66 Honda 450 caught my eye.....I had to have it..Z bars and shorty mufflers.
I learned how to set valves, points and spark plug air gaps on that bike.
Then a '70 650 caught my eye...

Well after I wore that out in '80 I bought my XS 11 Yamaha had had it ever since..34 years May 31st:-)
Got my Vetter after my second trip to Utah from Ohio...BMW's were big road bikes back then and had fairing's so I got mine.

Thats R1200GS is one hell of a bike. You can do some serious riding with that one! I am in the market for a Suzuki DR650. Gonna do some adventure riding. My bud Jer and I are gonna take a adventure ride down to San Carlos Mexico.

The GS is a terrific bike. However, in my opinion, it is too big to take off road. On road, it handles better than any bike I have ridden. Last summer, I put about 3,500 miles on it over two weeks. Still, I wish it weighed 100# less.

Bikes like this are just screaming cool! The manufacturerers are missing it big with all the plastic they are putting on the new bikes today. With all the retro cars that are back on the New car lots today bike manufacturers should jump on the same band wagon and start to make more retro bikes from this style! JMO

I think that the Honda CB1100 looks great. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be selling well in the U.S. Several years ago Kawasaki tried retro bikes here (W650, Zephyrs), and was not successful. I suspect that we will see more plastic because it is less expensive to cover the metal bits than it is to finish them properly.
