Greetings from the wet and wild Pacific Notthwest.

I bought my KZ a couple of years ago and have had it stored after a few rides due to family/work/life stuff.

I’m hoping to take it from WA down to Santa Monica and riding the full length of Route 66 from there.

Welcome to the VOG forum! That sounds like a great ride. The weather is about there.

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask, and we here on the forum love pics!!

Last year didn’t happen. Leaving Saturday AM for Sturgis and Chicago to pick up Route 66 and the PCH for the trip back. (Hoping the heat wave breaks by the end of August)

Well, made it through 2 weeks of Sturgis and 2 whole states MN and WI in rain to get to Chicago. After a couple of days touristing headed out to cover every mile of Rt 66 back to the Left Coast.

Vetter proved to be everything good ever said and 7 or so thousand miles later, doing more this trip.

Mounting bracket wanted for 79 KZ1000 Windjammer SS Fairing. Does any one know where I might source such a critter?
Sadly, Vetter never marked the brackets for which bike they fit. That information was only marked on the original outer box they were packaged in. The best place to find Vetter brackets is eBay. Search regularly for a bracket for your bike. If you are a decent fabricator, you can modify a bracket from a similar bike. The top of the brackets are all identical. The lower part vary to make the specific bike's frame.

I don't know for sure, but I think one of our Australian clients removed his windjammer fairing, if so he is likely to have the brackets. No idea if he'll part with them, but even pics might help if you're redesigning. All you can do is ask. His name is Gavin, and his email gavin.brockett@yahoo.com
Cheers Moz
