How did I miss this? (Vetterized '84 GL1200 Standard)

At that price, I'm GLAD I missed it. I just recently cleaned out my garage of two bikes and the wife is now happy that there is only two remaining. If I would have moved another back in... who knows where it would have led.

Ever trailer a vetter sideways across trailer?

Those are all things that really need to be considered. I know for a fact that a trailer that is light on the hitch is not fun to travel down the road with. Every bump that you hit, the trailer will be wiggling/waggling all over the road. The further back the axle goes, the less chance you...

Ever trailer a vetter sideways across trailer?

I've seen GoldWings and full dress Harley's parked sideways traveling down the road, but never in front of the trailer/RV. I also wonder if your design for the trailer would put a lot of weight behind the axle and cause handling issues, but I like the idea.

    BMW by Vetter

Judging by the Vetter logo, I suspect that may have been a product made after Craig sold the company. I have never seen one of those before.

    Re-assembling Quicksilver fairing for 83 CB650SC

A replacement bag could be any thing that you want. A small bicycle handlebar bag comes to mind. It isn't water proof, but unless you are riding in a monsoon, it doesn't need to be and it would fit behind the fairing. I recently bought some of this on ebay... I just checked and I don't...

    Windjammer V Lowers

I have a pair of black ones that were last fitted to an 82 GoldWing, so they should be trimmed correctly for the 81 as well. I am not certain they are a type 51 though... they are definitely for a WJ V though. I am looking to get $120 for the pair and that includes postage. Looking on...

    New from NC

Well, I do get around... For the lowers, I mounted them, traced a line and just trimmed them. The plastic cuts really easy. The black inner liner was already trimmed when I got my lowers, so I didn't need to do anything with those, but somewhere recently, someone trimmed that to fit. My C5...

Welcome to the forum. Most likely, you will need to trim the lowers to fit you engine guards.

Vetter lowers on air-cooled bikes in the summer. Yes/ no?

A luxury of a water cooled engine is that engine heat takes care of itself, but the heat coming off the engine still roasts the riders ankles. I never really had too much of a problem with the heat on my 1100 as I usually kept my feet on the highway pegs and in front of the heat, so I never...
