Mounting hardware

I have a 1978 gl1000. There is a local posting for Vetter bags in my area that I'd like to add to my wing. The post implies this set will fit multiple models, but I'm concerned with the mounting hardware. The PO said they were mounted to his Kawasaki (model unknown to me). The listing states "Honda CB750 (1973–1978), GL1000 Goldwing (1975–1979)Kawasaki KZ900, KZ1000 (1976–1982)Yamaha XS11 (1978–1981)BMW Airhead models with compatible mounting brackets". Was Vetter that universal so one frame would fit multiple models? Anyone have reference materials? Thanks.

Yes, Vetter products were universal, only the mounting hardware was model-specific. You need to search for something like these, but I don't know whether GL1000s, 1100s, and 1200s were cross-compatible.
