Long time since I last logged in.
Good to see there are still some activity.
So, the story begins,
I kept my Vetter trunk through the years and it has been on a handful of bikes since I got it.
Last time it was used was on a
BMW R Nine T G/S and a very homemade (and ugly) rear rack.
I retired a year ago and sold of all of my bikes, but my ’98 Wide Glide stayed.
It’s not worth a lot of money, so it might as well stay with me, and have some work done to it.
This is the bike and how it looks right now.
The plan is to:
• Change the rear rim to a solid rim from a Fat boy.
• Change the rear fender to a Heritage front fender turned backwards.
• Remove sissybar with luggage rack.
• Change seat to a single seat.
• Remove chrome covers on the rear frame fender rails.
• Paint mufflers black
• Wrap front forks in black
• Add fork gaiters.
——For longer rides:——
• Add small front windshield
• Add QD rack & Vetter trunk
The goal is to build a ’Go and buy Icecream bike’ that in less than 5 minutes can become a ’Daytripper bike’
I’m no pro at altering images but these two should give You an idea of what the end result should look like.
’Åka köpa glass’ is Swedish and translates to
’Go buy icecream’
Time schedule is not that important, but I hope to be ready before summer is gone.
I have all the required parts, and only need to buy some good heatproof black paint for the mufflers, and some black wrap for the forks.
Thanks for taking Your time to read this, and You are welcome to post any suggestions, as long as You do not suggest I should ditch the H-D and get myself a modern bike.
