I haven't seen this style before...

Wow, I have not seen this either. Its like a cross between a standard Vetter Sound and the one that came in the Liberator fairing.

Do you have any more information on this? Can you take some more images? Does it fit in a Windjammer?

It is post Cycle Sound, so it was after Craig sold the company, however it does have the Vetter icon still, so I believe it was before he was actually gone.

Interesting.

I'll get some more pics for you.
It looks like it was just for the 3 gauges as the BIG fm-only radio was "custom" installed.
The two remote speakers were mounted in the left side pocket.
I do see part of the Vetter logo under the radio on the face plate.

Two pieces bonded together, with only the aluminum face plate removable.

This is the oil pressure sender.
The gauges are: Oil pressure, clock, & voltage.

Yeah, I am stumped on this one. I have definitely never seen one of those. I wonder if it was some sort of prototype? The gauges are very aircraft looking... I wonder what was vibration insulated? The gauges?

Do the vent holes on top line up with the windshield vents? Where in the world did you find that? Its cool anyhow.

With they didn't cut it up for the radio. Bummer on that part.

(I moved this post to the cycle sound category) :)

It's a Vetter VDO "Jetcockpit" instrument module, from 1977. The instruction manual can be found on the Vetter website. It is used for sensitve electronic equipment like gauges, cb radios, and such. I have on of these that I have rebuilt. Pictures to be posted later.

Tom,

Thanks! You are absolutely right. I didn't see that before for some reason, and I looked!

Thats really cool, they came blank and you could add whatever you want really. In the manual they called it the "Vetter Faceplate and Instrument Module, featuring VDO "Jetcockpit" Instruments".

Here is a link to the manual on Craig Vetter's website. CLICK HERE

Thanks Tom. Great info.

AVetterXS, do you "collect" Vetter items?

:)Cool.

Thanks to wog for the Vetter VDO "Jetcockpit" instrument module! It arrived yesterday and is so cool. Gonna clear it up and post some pics.

Alright, that is ridicules! Every day that I am on the forum I learn something new. Tom, that is so cool and it's done extremely well. Did you cut the unit or did you get it that way? What do all the toggles do? and where is the CB? and what is it? Uniden? I know, so many questions!

The unit came with the gauges installed. It is actually for a police bike, it' my version of a Dragnet/Chp police radio. The mic is from a Motorola police radio, the switch on the left is for power and turns on the red light, the one on the right operates the siren and when you key the mic it turns on the green light. The knobs are just for looks.
