Does anyone know of a descent new shaft style radio? I'm looking to replace mine and all I can find are Pyle stereos with horrible reviews! I'm not wanting to install an older unit because I want to use flash drive and phone inputs for music as well as radio. I've got a descent radio, but I'd hate to cut up my enclosure to make it fit the full din. I guess finding an enclosure that someone else has already cut up is an option too. Thanks for your I put.

I cut the shaft-style opening in my Rooster's faceplate into a DIN opening. It wasn't hard, and it opens up a lot of options. Few shaft radios will have multi-media inputs.

I have an Alpine 'mechless' (multimedia) head unit with 1/8" stereo and USB inputs, and an Alpine KTP-445U amp driving a pair of MTX TNS52 component speakers.

and..... everybody knows how I become sad every time one cuts a Cycle or Vetter Sound. :swear

As far as shaft style, there are not many modern decks that give you the functionality that you are looking for. Some of the auto restoration place have them for older cars that were shaft, however they are just tuners and tape. You are right the Pyle is a pile. Some folks on here have had them, can't remember who...

Relocating this post to Cycle Sounds under Tech. :rad

Well I found an enclosure that is already cut so my original cycle sound will remain unmolested. I got it for $35 free shipping, I also picked up a marine stereo cover to keep my radio somewhat dry.
