Here are some pics of the various Cycle Sound and Vetter Sound speaker grills that I have. If you have any other types not shown, please share. The duplicate you see below is the small 3" version.
I have 3 out of the 6.I never knew there were so many choices. I guess I have a new Grail Quest...
I have 3 out of the 6.
I prefer #6, but I am biased because that is what my Dad had (and I now have) on his bike (Vetter WJ5 fairing and sound system purchased circa 1981). I am sure if his was any of the other styles, THAT would be my favorite.![]()
How many radio pod do you have though? Lots I bet!I actually beat out Tom with Vetter Grill covers! I feel accomplished.
I like the Vetter Sound grill also, however being a Cycle Sound purist, I like the Cycle Sound originals. Those Vetter labeled units would have been produced after the company was sold to Richard Binet. You will also notice there is no Triskelse (Vetter Logo) on the actual enclosure.
That's funny. I started installing car stereos back in the 8-track days. I seemed to be the only one concerned with the front "sound stage' back when 6x9 3-ways in the rear deck were all the rage. I recommended and installed many front speakers.I have one with the small speakers and the vetter 8 track radio.
I did enlarge the 4" speaker holes in my Rooster to accept the 5-1/4" woofers (if you can call them that) from a set of separates, with the tweeters flanking the stereo. There are pics in the members' gallery. Happy to help with wiring (my specialty) or plastic work.
Gallery, I don't see any... do you have it set for public viewing?
My first thought after riding at 75+ mph was that I need more volume from those 4" speakers.
I need to find one with the bigger speakers, I have one with the small speakers and the vetter 8 track radio. Gonna upgrade in late January early February
