Hey All,

Just about got my 1983 KZ1100 project wrapped up. Bike is running, and looking pretty marvelous, If I must say so myself. I did have a question about removing the headlight. There is that small tab on the bottom you have to push in, but I am not clear if you push it straight in, or it is hinged and you push it back (hope that makes sense) No matter how I have tried it, have not been able to release the headlight ring to get it off, as I have decided the last thing I will do is replace the windshield!

I got it off. I took a picture so people who might be searching as I did, who likewise cannot get it off can better visualize what they need to do. As you can see, the little tab only needs to get pushed up about 1/8" or so, I managed to turn the headlight ring by myself (counterclockwise) but a second set of hands would make that FAR easier.

That little locking tab only need's to be pressed in a little bit to unlock the bezel. After many years of sitting in the same static position they become hard to twist off. All I can tell you to do is keep trying. Once it starts moving it will come right off. You can twist it both ways to start it moving but remember it turns counter clockwise to come apart.

Nice looking ride! If I wasn't partial to flat fours I'd own one of the big inline Kawasaki's!
