Um... does the Terraplane even HAVE a turn signal??

I wired the marker light as normal, but I wired the sidecar brake light to be the blinker. That left me without a brake light on the sidecar, so I bought a red LED strip and mounted in in the center of the rear, just under the seam, so it behaves much like a car's 3rd brake light.

Trying to identify original electrical plug type?

Okay, that's kinda what i suspected. I looked at the Molex because they seemed the most similar, but then nothing quite matched. Guess I'll just update. Thanks for the info!

Trying to identify original electrical plug type?

I've been trying to locate the plug end that will match up to the factory plug located at the serial plate. I'm having zero luck finding anything online that looks correct. Does anyone know a "name" or a "type" that I can look up, or is this a design that has disappeared over the years? It looks...

Um... does the Terraplane even HAVE a turn signal??

Ok, I saw that but wanted to make sure. My bike ('03 Triumph Speed master) has zero marker lights, only a headlight and tail light, so I guess this won't work for me. Do you see any issues arising if I just slap a few automotive diodes on the hot wires to keep the power from bleeding back and...

Um... does the Terraplane even HAVE a turn signal??

I'm not quite following... if you're slowing down to make a turn, you have both the brake and the blinker on at the same time. The voltage on the blinker pulses, so there are brief moments when the relay would switch right back to the brake power, no? Operating off the same light, wouldn't it...

Um... does the Terraplane even HAVE a turn signal??

So I'm wiring this thing into my bike, and looking at the schematic included in the old PDF manual, there's a tail light wire, a brake light, and an "accessory", whatever that is. I had assumed I would just wire the blinker and the brake together on the sidecar, but just realized that can't...

Rivet size for Terraplane canopy hinge?

I have never in my life worked with rivets, so I'm completely unfamiliar with them. I bought a gun and a pack of what I thought were the correct size for the canopy hinge, but realized after the 1st attempt that they're much too short. For fear of busting my fiberglass, can someone maybe tell me...

    Shock woes!

So I'm >this< close to finally having my Terraplane mounted to me Speedmaster (only took a year!), but I've discovered that my shock is an old S&W air shock, and not only was it rusted solid, it won't hold air now that I've broken it loose. I followed Windbüchse's lead and bought the Monroe...

    I need a trim control for a terraplane,,buddah31552@yahoo.com

How well does that original trim system work? The DMC kit locks that stuff down HARD. When I installed my standard trim grip, it seemed to have a lot of play in it because of the plastic/rubber bushings at the mounting ends.

    Terraplane wheel bearing spec info

Hey guys, I've been digging for some replacement wheel bearings, and turns out info is a little sparse for this particular application, so I thought I'd post what I found here for future reference. Bearing cone: L44643LA (the suffix "L" or "LA" denotes an attached rubber seal) Race/cup?: L44610...

    Terraplane using DMC brackets???

Hey guys, I'm attempting to install a Terraplane on my '03 Triumph Speedmaster. To make it a "simple" bolt up, I spent a massive wad of cash on a bike-specific setup from DMC Sidecars, which includes 2 mounting plates for the sidecar, a subframe for the bike that will attach directly to the...

    Howdy from North GA, USA!

Hey guys! I purchased a Terraplane off eBay a week ago. I can't wait for it to arrive, but I have it scheduled mid-October because I'm having to work it around my honeymoon. ;) Here are a few pics of the sidecar. I'll be installing it on a 2003 Triumph Speedmaster, using hardware by Jay at DMC...
