NOS WJ5 Nightstalker on EBay - not mine

https://www.ebay.com/itm/365695542638 This is identical to the one on my bike, which I “inherited” from my Dad (well, the story is a bit more complicated than that - I told it when I joined here over 10 years back). In fact it was the “Nighstalker" WJ5 variation that led me to find this site in...

How did I miss this? (Vetterized '84 GL1200 Standard)

Probably not in a position to buy it (not financially, I mean wife-wise:)), but it still makes me swoon. Bet whatever problem it had was easily fixed...

    Got creamed on Thursday

Went out for short jaunt in the morning to meet a friend for coffee and a roll; guy turned left in front of me on the way home, causing m to drop the bike. I had slowed down when I saw the guy coming from the other direction and about to turn (just not ebough I guess). We managed to avoid...

    Prince Died

For years, I assumed the fairing on his Honda 400 in "Purple Rain" was a Windjammer, till I read here last year that it may have been a Windkutter knockoff. Anyway, took my bike out on an errand yesterday and being that I am usually tuned into an oldies station, they were playing Prince music...

GL1100 clutch replacement - Q about center clutch nut

The front brakes locked up on my wing in the fast lane of a 4 lane highway last week...had to get out of the middle of the road, and basically destroyed my clutch trying to overcome the brakes. At least I think that's what I did. Pretty bummed about what happened; it was all pretty exciting...

    Vetterized GL1200 - I'm in Love

Found this while "Googling" today...really like the look of the WJ5 on the bike, though I'm not sure the bags are indeed a Vetter product, even from '84? Gives me ideas, though... from: http://sidecar.com/mbbs22/photos/show-album.asp?albumid=19&photoid=326

    Windjammer on a GL1200

Really like the looks of the one-year-only 1984 GL1200 standard. Anyone ever see one with a WJ5 on it? Was a mounting kit made for such an install? I have this "vision" of one...not that I even own a GL1200 standard. :)

Vetter references in 1982 Drag Specialties catalog

Recently bought a set of 1982 Drag Spec. catalogs on Ebay, including lots of Goldwing chrome trim and other accessories, even apparel. Actually, in these catalogs, I can account for every aftermarket item my Dad's added to his Goldwing (recently re-found after 24 years) and plenty that he...

    Key blanks?

Hi, I have a single key for my right hand side hard case cover, tied having one made and was told it was most likely a Yale Y9, but two local big box stores did not have one such blank in stock. Anyone know what blanks typically work, or if there is even a "typical" one?

WANTED: NOS or near perfect Drag Specialties Early Goldwing (GL1000/1100) Valve cover

Wasn't sure where to put this want ad, as I did not see the perfectly appropriate forum for it. Anyway, I found a brand new one, and now need another (the other aint bad, but compared to the new one....well, it just won't do, haw haw). Even looked into re-chroming, but being pot-metal, that...

Smart phones for music - like it was made for it

Noting that the straps on the soft vinyl compartment cover on the left side of the fairing are such that the top one is "open" and the bottom one is sewn at the lower edge, my Iphone fits in there quite snugly / securely (I may also add a little double sided velcro tape for peace of mind). I...

New Vetter Equipped Goldwing owner (again, sort of)

My Dad bought a "naked" 1981 Goldwing (standard, I guess it would be called) off the showroom floor in late '81. Shortly afterwards, he "dressed" the bike with a Vetter Windjammer V Nightstalker fairing and KG hard saddlebags and trunk. I was 15-16 back then, and helped him install the fairing...
