I've ran an automotive bulb in my XS650 for 10 years and haven't had any issues. I considered another one for my Vetter but figured I'd look into a true motorcycle lens for comparison.
Hello everyone. My 76 GL1000 is ready for the riding season. I noticed my headlight is not very bright and I'm looking for a replacement option that is brighter but also will not break the bank. I searched the forum the past few days for some answers and there were a few on here that installed...
76 GL1000 also here in Illinois. I acquired the bike in pieces 8 years ago and fully restored her over this time. I was not a full dresser guy but decided to mount the Vindicator fairing that I had stored in my shed to extend my riding season. I have to admit, the Vetter has really grown on me.
Weather reached 60 degrees today. Instead of taking a ride, I got a wild hair and mounted my Vindicator to the bike. I think I like the look of this one better even though I do not have front turn signals.
Thanks Brian, I feel late to the party though. I should have installed this fairing years ago and I also should have joined the forum years ago as well!
I picked up a Windjammer 5 last week and mounted it on my 76 Goldwing. I also still have the Vindicator that came with the bike when I acquired it years ago.
What is the general consensus on which fairing looks best on my bike? I'm interested in your opinion.
Thanks.
When I get home from work today, I'll look at that CB750 bracket closer. It's here and it's free. If I can't do anything with it, I'll grab a different one to play with.
I saw on the craigvetter.com site that there is a company mentioned in CA that has the tooling to make Harley brackets. I...
I installed a different handlebar off of another model bike. It's about the same height but without the buckhorn pullback. I also ditched the double gauges for a single speedometer. Other than that, it is pretty well a stock setup up front. I have a radio pod for my Vindicator but no radio for...
I have a CB750 bracket that came with my fairing. I was going’s to toss it out but I’ll now hang on to it to see about making it work. Did you have any issues getting the fairing angle correct? I assume there was a lot of going back and forth.
Welcome aboard. I just joined as well.
I just mentioned today about mounting my Vindicator to my Sportster. Did you fabricate your own mounting bracket?
Yes, I read that they were all pretty well molded similar but cut to fit different makes and models. For the WJ5, it was the "Type 51". Honestly, as long as they bolt up and protect my shins, I'll cut and trim accordingly if they are off a different make.
Yes, I have been hesitant for a while to install a fairing. I was not a fan at first but I have seen some pictures over time that I've grown to like. I was told more than once that I would fall in love with the front protection. I did a shake down ride late afternoon Saturday. It took some...
I recently acquired a Windjammer V for my '76 Goldwing to extend my riding season. I am looking for a set of lowers for it. I understand that the WJ5 has different lowers than the WJ 1-4. If there are any out there gathering dust, please let me know what you would want for them? Shipping would...
Greetings from Southern Illinois. I live near St. Louis, MO on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River.
My 1976 Honda GL1000 Goldwing came with a Vetter Vindicator fairing when I acquired it 7 years ago. I always ran this bike naked and the fairing sat in storage. This year I finally decided...
