Judging by the amount of travel in your front forks, I'd say it works pretty well.

Does anyone think this would work?

I'm not sure, but with the hinges, I can bypass the steel plate and have an easily detachable backrest. it'd be just as easy to build, and a lot easier to take on and off. Thoughts???

Does anyone think this would work?

I plan on bending some tubing in the shape of my old sissy bar, making a sturdy pad for it, and threading the ends of the tubing. then making a steel support plate for under the seat, with pilot holes for the threaded ends. to attach, simply mount the support plate to the top of the frame /...

My trunk arrived, fixed broken light brackets

A local locksmith hooked me up, he found locks with the smaller squares and matched all 6 to the same key.

Im curious, is there ever a vetter owners show or meet? I just think it'd be cool. There's not to many vetters around where I am, the bike gets lonely lol

    Howe Windkutter and Vetter

This was a very interesting read, I've heard of windjammers all along, but never the Windkutter. I believe my grandfather even had a windjammer Goldwing back when I was a kid. i'm curious. Do we know of anyone that makes some other fairings still? Other than those damn harley batwing look...

I'm not sure where else to put this, I hope this is the right forum. The stereo I have on my bike is a 4 channel and I had these two bolt on bullet style speakers. i'd love to relocate them and hide them, I have highway bars, Vetter side boxes, and trunk on my bike as well. just to give you an...

    Restoring Aluminum To Stock

you'll go through a lot of cotton wheels, but I love my dremel when it comes to polishing metal. Maguiars metal polish works well too.

My trunk arrived, fixed broken light brackets

Today took my extra Tonneau cover, installed a cup holder from a few pvc fittings, and installed a button for my garage door opener. I stole the idea from another member on here I think.

My trunk arrived, fixed broken light brackets

I realize I didn't actually fix my brackets, however, I'm the only person that will ever see it with the lenses off, so im ok with the permanent bandaid type of fix rather than going with non oem parts. So far everything I've put on this bike has been strictly 1980 parts other than the head unit...

My trunk arrived, fixed broken light brackets

I also replaced the locks for the trunk lid and the tonneau cover, the squares on the ends of the locks weren't the same, so I had to do some bending of the metal on the new locks to make them fit. But, now I have smooth gliding, matching keys. I'll be trying to match the locks to the side...

My trunk arrived, fixed broken light brackets

I do now lol first pic is where I got rid of old rivets so I could add hardware once set in place. Then i used silicone to help support and weather seal it. Then small screw to hold where there was still enough plastic on the back piece and larger screws to lip over where there wasn't...

My trunk arrived, fixed broken light brackets

I thought about just getting foam gaskets, placing the housings inside/behind the trunk body, instead of through the holes, and mounting the lenses that way. It would go... lense, foam gasket, trunk body, housing. I think it should work, thoughts?

My trunk arrived, fixed broken light brackets

Ok, I think I've seen a thread on here but I'll be danged if I can find it with search engines. The tail light housings on my trunk are busted. The lenses are fine but the housings are busted where they pop rivet to the trunk. Any suggestions on how to get around this or fix them? I really...

arm rest's adapted to a vetter trunk?

By sturdy, I mean do they flex, (if rather they dont) and if I were to mount them between the backrest pad and the trunk, would the trunk be strong enough to hold them without breaking the plastic if you were to put any weight against the arm rest. I suppose I could put a Steele plate inside to...

arm rest's adapted to a vetter trunk?

Stationary would work, I wonder how sturdy those are. I still would love a pivoting rest. Just not sure how to fabricate it
