Nice find!
Welcome to the forum! It's been a mess lately, just now getting it back to normal. Did a XenForo upgrade and it nuked it big time. Should be back 100% by weeks end.
Shoot us over some more pics when it arrives!
Welcome to the forum! and of course you decide to post on the day I break the forum! It should be back to its normal state in the next couple days.
Do you have a pic of the bike?
It's fun when you run across custom painted Windjammers. I try to catalog them so that they will never be forgotten! This is one of the best. I love how the headlamp bezel bleeds fire onto the body of the WJ. A classic setup for this 81 Suzuki GS850. Needs a wash.
Sounds good! There is a Wizard here that posted often named Terraplane Tom. He is still around but isn't as active as he used to be. In a pinch you might be able to PM him. Good dude, and super knowledgeable.
I am needing to get a bike, I could work on it all winter. I have been looking for another XS11. Would love a Midnight Special, but when you do find those, they are trashed and not worth restoring due to all the parts being hard to find and reproduce (GOLD), or they are like 8k with low miles...
or! we can make a the Harley version the Liberator II, and the non Harley be the Windjammer. Thinking from a sales perspective, the Windjammer as far as a name goes if much more recognized than the Liberator. I bet if one could design one, the name it self would sell.
The Liberator was sure a...
Love the pics, period specific personal images are the best. A very cool time in the history for motorcycles.
As far as the logo on the 1000, it looks to be correct with the images aside from the one Craig had. His may have been a prototype and the consistancy didn't come till production hit...
There was a weird registration bug with seeing out verification emails. I finally figured it out, and it was a server side issue. Fixed!!!
Maybe we will see some new members come aboard.
Well everybody, here we are. It's 2019 already. How time flies, if you are having fun or not.
I hope everybody is doing well, and all of you got out and rode your machines for the Summer.
Happy Labor Day to all, and thank you for your past and future contributions to the forum.
I have always loved the looks of those firings. It looks like something that nightmares are made out of. Almost cartoon like. I have never seen one in person, but always looking.
Thats a good question Scott. Every time I see a Harley or any other bike with a fairing I think back the the WJ and what started it all. Craig was truly a pioneer in the industry. I think they look sharp on modern bikes. Would cool to see a modernized version of the WJ. Still he same lines, just...
Heya Phil,
Great to hear from you again. Thats gonna be a fun restoration project. Cant wait to see the final result.
As far as serial numbers go, I not as familiar with the 1000's as I am with the WJ's. However, bu what I have read the serial numbers are hidden under the windshield...
