That does look really nice! As for the turn signals, I would make a simple bracket that attaches the turn signal light to the top windshield mounding screws. You could use two of those small LED turn signal lights (one on each side) so you don't need to drill any mounting holes.
I like the WJ5. The reason for that is I like the molded in lights. I understand why others may not like them. As long as you never break or lose a lens they are fine. At this point they are near impossible to replace. If you haven't done it yet remove those lights pods and check they remain...
The lowers were made in two parts per side. Those two parts are put together in different ways to fit many of the bikes made back then. There is nothing on the lowers that detail what they fit. You may find a set of lowers that are made for your Goldwin but you may also find a set made for...
Now you'll wonder why you didn't mount it years ago :)! At least all you had to do was put the bracket on the bike and then mount the WJ5 to that. I had to fabricate a mount from scratch for my WJ4 for my modern 2006 Honda VT600cd. Later I acquired Vetter Saddlebags and Trunk. I had to make...
I switched from Windows to Linux when Win-95 hit. I tried it and immediately hated it. It became near impossible to change the way it did things. Linux was hard core back then but today Linux is actually easier to use than Win-10. Most people don't realize they are using Linux when using their...
It looks good on my Linux OS with Firefox. I like the way it switches between the original collage of pictures and the Vetter-ized advertisement. More pictures and vintage advertisements added to the list would be nice as well.
You might find a small welding shop that could help you make a bracket to mount that WJ4 on your bike. It costs nothing to ask. Just show the welder pictures of brackets even if they don'r fit just to give him or her an idea of what you need. I fabricated a bracket for my WJ4 to attach it to my...
I leave my Vetter Bags and Trunk on all the time. Craig designed them to pull the air behind the bike instead of rolling back onto your backside. Without them I get air coming from behind right up my back. That's no fun at all when the weather is cool or cold.
I'm sure you got lots of...
I found a way to mount a modern DIN radio in an old Cycle Sound enclosure. First of all it can't be a full length DIN radio. DIN radios without CD players are half the length of standard DIN radios. This leaves plenty of room to mount the radio behind the front cover. You will need to cut the...
I haven't cut my trunk to mount them yet. Every time I get ready to do it I chicken out. Apparently I can't bring myself to cut my trunk and mount them. Somewhere there are pictures of that having been done here on this forum but I haven't had time to look for them. They looked right at home and...
Military vehicles use bulbs like that. Even the new replacement lights with LED's still use those type bulb sockets. They just plug in LED lights with the shell made to fit in the sockets. The old 24 volt filament bulbs had two 12 volt filaments internally wired in series so they looked like...
I have no idea when or where it happened. It could be due to age and vibration. I just found it when walking by the bike as I was getting ready to go for a ride. I guess it's time to upgrade them to modern LED lights. Harbor Freight has those 6" oval LED trailer lights for $15 each. They will...
I hope so! Craig manufactured over a million Windjammers so it's not very hard to find them used. The hard part is finding a modern bike a Windjammer can be fitted on due to modern fork widths and wider gas tanks. It's also nice seeing people getting an old bike back on the road while retaining...
I've rode my Vetterized Honda Shadow all summer. Down here in Alabama with my Windjammer 4 mounted on it it's easy for me to ride year round, which I do. The only time I don't ride are those rare times when there is ice on bridges or on the roads.
I don't think I would call it a Windjammer X. Most everyone has forgotten about the Liberator. It was the larger version of the Windjammer for Harley's. I would name the modern version the Liberator II with an additional letter/number designation noting bolt on mods for different bikes like the...
That's so ugly it makes me want to adopt it! It's too far away from me to go have a look and possibility buy it. I'm sure the Barbers Motorsports Museum located west of me would love to add it to their collection because they don't have one of those bikes or the touring fairing and luggage. It...
That's one of those odd ball straight 6 cylinder Bikes. Their sort of rare as not many survive but they are not 'collectable'. The bike is not worth very much at this time. I might gain in value, but I don't think it ever will. I'm sure she's going to want way too much for the sidecar as well. I...
I wonder why new clones are not made today? They would need to be a few inches wider to clear the wider forks and gas tanks used on most modern bikes. Harley is still selling it's frame mounted Glide fairing for lots and lots of dollars. There are also lots of clone Batwing fairings available as...
