For those of you who have permits, how do you prefer to concealed carry while riding?

I'm trying to decide how I'll go about it.

G19 IWB at the 7 o'clock position since I am left handed. That is how I carry all the time.

Depends...

LC380 - Ankle holster.

1911 - IWB at 3 or o'clock (depends on the pants), OWB 3 o'clock, or shoulder rig. I do tend to get some looks when my shirt rides up and the 1911 is visible when I am carrying it in my Blackhawk SERPA holster.

357 - Shoulder rig - it's hard to conceal it in my pants. :D

In a BIANCHI fanny pac with elastic holster for my 1911. 1911s don't do well cocked and locked in a fanny unless it is secured in a holster. The thumb safety tends to disengage while just loose.
With a Blackhawk Tactical holster right side if I am not going to remove my riding jacket, I like the locking feature while riding.
If I am going into a government building or other easy target zone, I have a cabled lock box in the locking side of my fairing.
For states that do not have reciprocity, I play it by ear.

Now thats a hand cannon Brian. I don't think it would fit in the trunk.

For obvious reasons, that is not a concealed carry weapon. I use that one for hunting, so I only carry that on the bike when I am on the way to the range to practice... but yeah, it fills a saddlebag or trunk when its in the case, so my shoulder holsterr is easier.

I am looking into getting my Ccw or Cow as Larry would call it.
The time and effort are well worth it, good luck.

Today, we are facing possible threats from any number of entities. I believe we are all responsible for our and our family’s security. With that comes awesome responsibility and like riding, we must remain proficient with proper training and practice. That training should extend well past the CCW class.
For those who say it is the Police who are there for our immediate security must realize that the police are dedicated to do that and will do everything in their power, sadly they can not be everywhere and the greatest percentage of the time they gather evidence after the crime.
Being a holder of CCW does not make us heroes. We just have the tools available to be our family's first line of security.
There is no price we can place on our family's wellbeing. If the absolute last possible act to our family's security is DEADLY FORCE and you need to use it, it will cost you a minimum of $10,000. I recommend looking at the insurance just for CCW holders, there are several. I decided to go with Second Call Defense.

I keep mine in my tank bag until I get off the bike. Then it gets hidden in my shoulder holster. The tank bag allows pulling it out with the left or right hand. I would rather open carry and not hide my weapon. Currently here in Alabama you can open carry everywhere except in a motor vehicle unless you have a CCW. In that case you can't open carry at all. It's a screwed up mess that hopefully will soon be straightened out. If you open carry you must keep your weapon in a locked compartment such as the trunk so it can't be used until the vehicle is stopped and the driver is outside the vehicle. There are Bills that will allow people with a CCW to open carry and end the prohibition of open carry accessible weapons inside a vehicle. Originally the law prohibiting open carry in a vehicle was passed in a vain effort to end drive by shootings. Criminals continued to shoot people from moving vehicles despite the law while people that obey laws lost their rights to self defence while inside a vehicle, moving or not.

If they fix our open carry laws I will be open carrying an Astra M900 low on my hip.
Han Solo's Blaster was a modified Astra M900 in the Star Wars movies. I've owned that pistol long before the Star Wars movies were produced.

Great presentation.
I hope Alabama gets their stuff in one bag with open carry in a POV. NC has a plan that works, a loaded weapon in a vehicle must be in view unless with a CCW then it can be canceled anywhere.
I believe the TV programs depicting criminals getting their come-uppens are great entertainment BUT as a public service these are misleading to the law abiding public that all criminals are DUMB! Only the stupid, intoxicated and unlucky ones show up on these programs.
The ones that you do not see on these programs are watching you if you are open carry.
You require back-up to insure no one is tracking you if you open carry a sweet AR15 or M4, or “Make My Day” .44 Win Mag. The guy who displays strange behavior in front of you is covering the guy who is coming up behind you to plunge a knife in your kidney that will place your body in total instant shock that the only thing you can do is watch as your attacker liberates your beloved possession. Thank God that you did not have a family member as your back-up as the practiced criminals are watching for them too.
That pendulum swings a wide ark – total gun confiscation – to – total open carry.
Criminals are most polite when they do not who is armed.

Good info, thank you.

Generally, I carry my S&W Shield 40 in an Aliengear inner waist band holster at about 7:30/8:00. The only time carrying this way on the bike gets annoying is when you had that extra sandwich and your pants are fitting a little too snug.

I live in NY, so its concealed all the time. No opportunities for open carry, but I do sometimes carry my shield in a Blackhawk! Serpa outer waistband holster. This is by far the most comfortable way to carry IMHO, but printing, and inadvertently exposing you sidearm are more of a possibility in this scenario.

Maybe that's why it was so damn cold on the East Coast this past winter... hell must be freezing over!!!
I had my CCW in Kings County, south of Fresno. The San JoaquinValley is a conservative bastion, so is the high desert east and far north of the bay area. The areas of restricted freedoms such as the Bay Area and LA bastion, CCW are for the privileged.
The very best CCW classes I have attended were in California.

You know you getting old when...............

People ask if your 91 year young father is your brother.

Sounds like you know my area well!
