Hey vetterland

Just wondering what you guys use in your tonneau compartments on the WJ fairing. You know, the big ones on either side, where all the wiring is housed?

Are there bags that are (were) shaped to fit this? I don't want to be putting all my stuff in with the wires, and I'm afraid I might lose things into the front of the fairing if I have to stop hard haha

Here is one idea:

I am still looking for something here in the States that is close to the size of the opening on the left side because I also don't want to put too much in there with all the wires that I have. On the right side I just have a few things in pouches that cannot get lost: first aid kit, tire plug kit, etc.

I remember reading that the openings are large enough to allow a can of two cycle oil to fit through as that was the most common motor when the WJ was first designed.

I wonder if something were modeled, molded and formed if they would sell? Guess depends on the cost.

Looked at possible options and I believ that "Vacuum Forming" would probably be the only way to make it cost effective in low numbers as a trial. If a mould could be made of the internal pocket then a vacuum forming company may make a cheapish tray. Problem I see is that you would need to take into account the catch at the bottom and lock at the top of the right hand hard cover, this is really the side you want as its lockable and looks to be more water resistant. Easier to do on my Rickman as both hard covers hinge at the top.

Guess I'll just stick with Tupperware containers for now haha
