Noting that the straps on the soft vinyl compartment cover on the left side of the fairing are such that the top one is "open" and the bottom one is sewn at the lower edge, my Iphone fits in there quite snugly / securely (I may also add a little double sided velcro tape for peace of mind). I run an audio cable to the aux input on the radio faceplate. Almost like it was designed for it.

Sure beats the Kraco stereo cassette unit that was in the bike back in the day...

Those straps also make a great place for just holding a cell phone while it is charging.

Yes, so once again, Mr. Vetter is proven to be a visionary; as smoking has become a less popular habit in the last few decades, the cigarette lighter provision has "transmogrified" into a conveniently located power port.

What's funny is they continue to use the cigarette lighter as a standard. They change the other end of the power adapters every two weeks, however the cig lighter remains the same for 80 years!
