Hi!

I've just managed to get my (greasy) hands on a Vetter Rear Trunk.
They are quite rare on these shores.

I will replace the locks as the trunk came without keys.
Just have to figure out were to source some locks that would fit.

My aim is to have the trunk fitted to my Harley FLSTC.
I've scanned the Web for a picture with a Softail Heritage Custom that has the Vetter Trunk fitted, but no luck so far.

Cheers, Kjell

Welcome to the Forum! The only Harley Davidson a Windjammer Fairing will fit is the Sportster. Typically people will only mount Vetter Saddlebags and Trunk on a Bike with a Windjammer or Liberator Fairing as well. I guess people don't like that 70's "Star Wars" era styling preferring Saddlebags and Trunks that look more like square boxes. If it were me, I'd just hold it in place and get some one to take a picture. Then you could decide if you wanted to fabricate a rack for it. Personally, I would not care what others might think and mount it.

I remember after I was given my Windjammer Fairing and started talking to other Bikers about mounting it on my Honda Shadow all I got was crap about how ugly it would look on my modern bike. They admitted they were wrong after I mounted it and were amazed at how good it looked on my Honda Shadow. Now there are a couple more local Honda Shadows running around with Windjammer Fairings as well.
I love mine! It's shape prevents air from flowing over my head and then circulating around and hitting my back.

Thanks Scott-E!

I will for sure adopt the Tail trunk on to my bike.
I already had a Swedish made copy of a VETTER trunk installed, so getting the real deal installed should not present a major obstacle.

Swedish copy?
Yes, Google "Stalama Topbox" and some pictures should come up.
Not as fancy as the Original but then they were hard to come by here in Sweden in those days.

Welcome to the forum!

I recently started replacing the locks on both my bikes (two sets of saddle bags: 2 Vetters, 2 Bates; hard cover on the right side of the Vetter Fairing) and found these that seem to be working pretty good.

They have various barrel size options to choose from and you can also order multiple quantities of the same lock so one key fits all.

My eventual plan is to have one key ring with only two keys on it for two different bikes.

Hi brianinpa!

I'll have a look at the link You supplied.

Cheers, Kjell

They fit right into the existing holes. The ones I am worried about are the locks that hold the bags onto the rack, but those are on a bike that has a burnt up motor, so that is low on the list right now.
