My 87 Interstate is a prime candidate for cruise-control but I am just not sure that is something I want to tackle. After reading your description, I am rethinking. Now I gotta go look at that unit some more.
I find that the vents aren't good for letting a lot of air in, but they are great for is equalizing the area of low pressure that is behind the fairing which helps decrease helmet buffeting.
I don't remember the thread size, but they have the thread sizer so take one that you have along with and match it up. Now if only they sold the rubber anchor nut...
