When I did mine, I wound up with about 3 inches of clearance when I was finished. It wasn't easy modifying brackets and obtaining that distance either.
Welcome to the forum! Getting that stuff mounted to your Magna shouldn't be too difficult, you just will have to make/modify most of the mounting hardware, which shouldn't be too hard.
I usually say "When it's cold out put another layer on and ride," but with age comes wisdom! There is no way I am riding when it is 5 degrees!

It's possible that someone took the Vetter bags and removed the quick disconnect locks and bolted the bags to the racks. If that is the case, I fear there is no turning back.
I did use the National brackets to mount the fairing to the handle bars. To mount the fairing to the headlight, I had to get a little creative because the fairing almost doesn't fit the 1200 Goldwing. In the end, I made some flat bar stock work with hose clamps.
