1980 Honda GL1100 with Vetter Set-up and Terraplane - Original Survivors - 6,000 Canadian Funds

Looks like a great rig. I wish it were in my current budget, but I just picked up a 1974 BMW R90/6 that I am bringing back to life. Good luck with it.

A call for Vetter serial numbers

Depending on how it is broken, it may still be usable. If a top chunk is broken off it can be cut down. I have cut down quite a few of them. I find the factory ones to be too tall, so I typically shorten them by about 3-4 inches.

A call for Vetter serial numbers

Did you find your windshield? There are some aftermarket ones made still, but good used ones pop up on eBay all the time. All variations of Windjammer used the same windshield, just be sure to use the clips instead of the screws in the top holes.

Hmmm...? Somebody on here had one. For some reason, I thought it was you. Have a great day and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Alan, you had a Mystery Ship, didn't you? Do you still, and what number is it?

    Mystery Ship in Motorcycle Classics

Did anyone see the recent article on the Mystery Ship in the recent issue of Motorcycle Classics? I will post a link to the article below. Motorcycle Classics is really the only Motorcycle Magazine that I still subscribe to. It is extremely well produced on high quality glossy paper. The...

    78 KZ 1000 w windjammer IV

That is really nice and complete...too nice to part out. Where are you located? Also, do you have a mounting bracket, and for which bike? I don't need it (in fact, I have a spare), I just thought it would be good information for someone that might want it. Ken

    78 KZ 1000 w windjammer IV

I have salvaged worse Windjammers than yours. They are actually pretty easy to work on. The only source I know for turn signals is eBay. Those lenses are known to pop off with age, although I have never lost one. There is some debate about the best adhesive to reattach them. I've even seen...

    78 KZ 1000 w windjammer IV

The original windscreen on those had some sort of hardened coating on them, Because of that, they are resistant to scratches, but incredibly difficult to polish. I tried to have a local glass shop make one years ago, but they couldn't get the curve right without it cracking. There are some...

Picking up some parts this Friday

I've heard some really mixed reviews about temu, but for four and a half bucks you are not risking much. My big question is what does this thing output to? It looks too tiny to have any sort of power amp in it, perhaps just a preamp... Do you have to port it into some other radio/receiver to...

Picking up some parts this Friday

If you are looking for a fun 'see if I can do it' project, I think you could make a great setup that would look period correct. However, Bluetooth technology has come so far it may not be worth the trouble. I took off my CycleSound years ago. I found that I had to blast it to hear barely okay...

    Hello from Florida

I don't have dimensions, but Craig has a page on his website about mounting the Windjammer on later production bikes. https://www.craigvetter.com/pages/Vetter_Fairings/Home-made-mounts.html

    Recently aquired Windjammer SS

It cleaned up pretty nicely. I hadn't noticed before, but those four screws on the inside, beneath the headlight adjuster, suggests that it has the optional horn kit. You would have to check inside to say for sure. You might be able to see them through the slots in the turn signals. If you...

Picking up some parts this Friday

If I recall correctly, the CycleSound was the original. It was designed and made by a friend of Craig who had an independent company, but was considered an 'authorized accessory.' The badge on it said something like "CycleSound by Vetter." When Craig sold the company, the new owners knocked...

    Hi from Florida

Nice Rooster. It might be helpful if you shared roughly where you are located to better connect with potential buyers. An ask price would help, too. Best of luck, Ken

    Hi from Virginia Beach, Va

Happy I could help. They used to be very much in demand, but everyone nowadays has Bluetooth in their helmets (myself included). I have two CycleSounds sitting on my shelf that I probably should put up for sale.

    Hi from Virginia Beach, Va

Since his accident, Craig is slowly phasing out his website. His online store is pretty much gone, but he still has a lot of information available, including original mounting instructions. His webisite is www.craigvetter.com. Here is a direct link to the CycleSound instructions...

    Hi from Virginia Beach, Va

That bike is the perfect candidate for a Windjammer! You are going to love how it changes the riding experience. That radio enclosure was sold under two names, "Cycle-Sound" and "Vetter-Sound." Very easy to swap out the radio with anything that is single DIN size. That Windjammer is in...
