Had a look at craigs page. According his information, my fairing must be one of the very first - made between September and November 71 as there is no serial number plate. I will look for the scratched in number tomorrow. Dieter

Hi guys, big surprise, just picked up the fairing - that one is old, really old. It‘s not made of ABS but made of fiberglas!!! Seems to be in quite good shape, photos will follow. Did not find any number plate. Where do I have to look for a serial number? Dieter

Due to a crack in the frame latch where the fairing bracket is fixed, I had to repair and reinforce the latch. Additionally I added two more mounts to the bracket. I used some old brackets I had purchased in the past to cut the necessary parts from - and welded it together after some bending...

Got that fairing for one Euro :clap... Will pick it up in two weeks or so. Keep you informed. Dieter

Now working on the saddle bags. Not easy to find the best possition and get it stable enough...need to add some more reinforcements and connectors.

Hello guys, I‘m now welding together my brackets for the saddle bags. Gonna modify some GL1000 frames to fit on my GSX1100G...not easy at all to find the best position. How much distance would you recommend between exhaust and bags? 3-4cm (1,5in) enough? Dieter

Meanwhile I bought the bags. They have the complete quick disconnect installed and came with the original frame. Those bags and the trunk were indeed installed on a GL1200 in combination with the factory fairing. Sorry for causing any trouble. Dieter Pictures will come on my project thread
