Many fairings like Vetter, Pacifico, Rifle and others are made from ABS plastic. For crack/damage repairs or mods maybe people attempt epoxy, or fiberglass, which many times does not work so well. Since these fairings are made of ABS plastic, you can use the same solvents for ABS plumbing to "solvent weld" repairs and mods. I repaired an old Pacifico fairing I got cheap with some Bates saddlebags, and used ABS solvent (Acetone) and a large soldering iron to either solvent weld or heat weld material into the fairing or to repair cracks and damges. I did this on a friends VN900 Vulcan to make the fairing fit his bike, and he rode it for ten yeats with no issues. All the repairs and mods I applied remained solid and strong. I also modified the Bates saddlebags to ope sideways with the single Southco latdh, and I made the bags much stronger to allow for a simple/clean mount system onto the stock Kawasaki leather saddlebag mounts.
