Today I bought this:

Now I am just not sure where to mount the things. I don't want to mount it to one of my good helmets so I think I will sacrifice on Outlaw helmet for the cause, but I am also thinking I want to mount it low on the windscreen.

However, I do not want to hang a $200 camera in the breeze if it is going to fall off as I am going down the road.

Oh the agony of making this decision: to mount it on the windscreen or to not mount it on the windscreen.

Of the home-made motorcycle videos I've seen, the bike-mounted cameras present an easier-to-watch and more enjoyable video, as the helmet cam seems move around a lot with the natural movement of the rider's head.

Just my own observation, of course; YMMV.

Added: How about a location behind the windscreen, which would give viewers more of the rider's view, and maybe allow for more secure mounting. A redundant safety strap or wire would prevent camera loss in the event of it bouncing out of the mount.

Oh I agree!

I got to thinking about this some more... and I actually looked at the camera in day light and found that it has mounting provisions on the bottom AND the side. That side mount may be the ticket. The question now is will it stick to the textured surface of the cover on the right hand side of the fairing or the cycle sound... If not, it might require a screw and a nut! I may be able to keep it behind the windscreen yet.

Thats super cool! I bought a GoPro and I am currently looking for a mount. I want to make some cool Vetter videos. Windjammer in action.

I put a mount right on the right side fairing cover. Now if I could just figure out how to synch my camera to my youtube account, I would be a LOT happier!!!!

Does 'tube not have any help available?

Added: I see an 'upload' button on the upper right.

My camera is able to upload directly to YouTube... I can't get the camera to recognize my YouTube account

Vivatar makes something very similar and I was looking at it to mount on th ecrash guard of the eninge. :D
