Hello, I am from Central WI, had vetter fairings since 1980, when I bought an XS11 Special. The first time I tried it wide open, I found I could not breathe at 135 MPH, and my eyes (behind safety glasses) felt like they would come out the back of my head. Then I found a vetter fairing, the one with the signals mounted on stalks. Since, I have found a windjammer III, IV, and SS. The III and IV have lowers, and I really love them. When I put the first windjammer on, I went for another high speed ride, still got up to 135 about as quick as the first time. My friends told me I would probably top out 15-25 MPH less than the first time, and I would probably get a high speed wobble. Well, they were wrong. I now have the old 11 special with an SS windjammer, a 79 STD with windjammer III with lowers, and a spare IV with lowers. The lowers are wonderful in the spring and fall.

Howdy Jerry, and welcome to the forum! I am a XS owner myself. I have had a few 1100's and a 850. I am currently restoring a 79 XS1100 Special. I am putting the full Vetter setup on it. I am looking for bag mounts for a my 79 Special. I have a set for a standard I accidentally bought. If you have any leads let me know.

Have you tried the XS11.com forum? They have a great bunch of members, very helpful, and they also have a buy/sell section. The avatar is my special, the std has samsonite luggage and trunk. I made all the brackets for the special, fairing, bags, and trunk. I hate the look of most mounts, the trunk seems like it is flying. Good luck.

Jerry,

I have been a reader of the XS11.com forum for many years. I never really posted, mainly because you guys always answered my questions without me having to post a question. When it came to the mounts I did put a post in a couple of areas of the forum and no takers.

I emailed T. Curtis and he was extremely supportive of the new Vetter forum. He allowed me to promote and post the news of vetterowners.com on xs11.com. Xs11.com is a fantastic forum and I admire the accomplishments.

I wonder if thats why we have so many XS11/Vetter owners have come here...... So so fun
