Yes people took them Vetter kits of when they fell out of fashion or the owner renovated their old 'Kwacker' back to as factory issued.

The Mounting bracket usually follows the Tail trunk through life. But if as in your case they get separated then it would not be hard to fabricate a bracket in your Machine Shop.
Very rarely only the brackets them selves pops up 4-sale on auction sites.
