Anyone going to Oshkosh this year?

I know how that is, I was going to go to the Laconia bike week in NH. But the bosses had other ideas.

Anyone going to Oshkosh this year?

My plans are never set in stone but I am planning a trip from Ohio to Oshkosh Wi, for the little airshow they have every year. Anyone here going? My plan is to head straight north and either take the boat across the lake at Ludington or go all the way around the lake through the U.P. I did that...

Did it again....first ride with the trailer

No, the set of wheels under the nose of the kayak are a carrier. I strapped those under the kayak and I made a support for the bicycle to hook on the the front handle of the kayak. When I got where I was going I locked the bicycle up strapped the carrier to the deck of the kayak and headed back...

Did it again....first ride with the trailer

I have a WJ waiting to be stripped down and painted, this project just seemed like more fun. As of last night my plan has come to full realization, I parked at my take out of a local river. Took the kayak via my bicycle to the put in 5 miles away and floated back to the bike. No longer need...

Did it again....first ride with the trailer

The first trailer was one I built a few years ago for my busa and just made the hitch for my 850. Last night I was able to do a test run of my newest trailer and it worked perfectly. I am looking forward to spending some time on the water as well as the time getting to and from the water. It...

First ride with the trailer done

Here is a picture of the hitch (more trailer side than anything). The trailer was originally designed for my busa. On the busa it mount to spools that are in the hollow axle. With the 850 I had to move it back but instead of a complete redo I kept the "yoke" and just let the trailer sit back a...

First ride with the trailer done

I didn't move my tag, merely a case of paranoia, the bikes tag stayed and I blacked it out. In Ohio all trailers need a tag and sadly they only have regular sized tags for trailers so its easier to see.

First ride with the trailer done

Finally finished my trailer hitch and wiring for my single wheel trailer on my suzuki gs850g. Took a guick spin around the block last night and no problems, on to the full testing before using it for long distances.

    Best ebay buy yet

Thats easy, fairing to match the bike. But after looking at it this morning it has had some repairs done so I'm still planning on repainting the one I bought with the luggage awhile ago. Still a great buy for parts. The windshield alone was worth the 5 bucks.

    Best ebay buy yet

Just picked up a new (to me) WJ. It came with everything mounting bracket (wrong one for my bike but it's here), both lowers, newer windshield, right hard cover (no key), left soft cover, harness. How much you ask, just 5 dollars. I think its my best purchase yet. Anyway just wanted to share.

Rear Turn Signal lights for saddlebag brackets

I do have the side rails on mine, I had to hand sand them to get the chrome off before having them sand blasted. The chrome was mostly gone and it was starting to pit so sanding just made them smooth and ready for powder coating. Only thing I am missing now is the end caps. I dont notice them...

Rear Turn Signal lights for saddlebag brackets

Just saw where you put the split loom... nevermind about sealing. My saddlebags didn't come with the rear bar I just replaced the hardware in the mounting holes with decrative license plate hardware.

Rear Turn Signal lights for saddlebag brackets

The split loom is an interesting idea, my only question is how would you seal it so the bags are water proofed? The Admore lighting kit came with quick disconnects for two bags (color coded for left and right). I had to buy a second set so I could use them with both the Givi and Vetter luggage...

Rear Turn Signal lights for saddlebag brackets

I'm not trying to steal the post but I finally got a picture of my lights with the Vetter saddlebags and the Admore light controller.

    Higher Speeds with W5

Well thanks for that..... now I have something else to worry about on my adventures as if directions and terrible drivers weren't enough. Lol Seriously I would like to know the background to what caused that. Something hit it? Aftermarket windshield? Excessive speed? Previous crash? (Also note...

Rear Turn Signal lights for saddlebag brackets

Because I have Givi luggage I use in addition to the Vetter luggage, I have an Admore lighting controller on the bike. I picked up some red LED light strips from Autozone and an extra set of Admore bag side connectors. The LED strips I mounted on the edge of the doors and I connected them...

    more windshield questions....

I'll have to try my normal windshield off of the other wj, it's shorter just not sure how short and see if I get any buffeting before I buy a replacement. Good to know.

    more windshield questions....

Really? I have the WJ with tall windshield on an 82 suzuki GS850G, driving 35 miles round trip to work (about half and half freeway to local) and haven't noticed any buffeting. In fact one of the reason I am planning on keeping it is the lack of buffeting over the plane windshield I had on the...
