Hi, I own an 81' Suzuki GS450E silver;bought it from a 'Not reputable seller' who bought it from a charity auction in the Bay Area.
I moved myself out here in 2018' and I'm originally from Ct. and decided to move out West here to see if there were 'any friendlies'. I have always lived alone after leaving family at a young age;now I want to find 'real community',if possible..
I'm looking for Real friends but I'm not 'holding my breath' anymore;I plan to move back East of the Mississippi once I've located a suitable area to recover from 'all this'.
My nice looking Suzuki GS450E had been Very neglected and then left to rot:this good old machine needs Lots of TLC.
I'm scouring the web looking for NLA parts which Suzuki decided to stop making a while back.
Ebay has been the only way for me. I'm determined to get this bike 100% mechanically restored.
I need a silver right side frame cover and lately my biggest pain has been to locate over-bore pistons/rings for the bike.
I like the design of the dome of the original pistons which is why I've been hunting for NOS overbore pistons and rings.
I also have a set of 1994' GS500E twin cylinders which are adaptable to my 450cc engine as these two engines have the exact same 56.6mm stroke;I hope to get a set of custom pistons of 74.25mm made(designed w/ the same exact dome shape as original)for me at some $ point(how does JE piston's work look to any of you?)although for now,I would be pleased to remove all the 40+ years of 'city driving' carbon out of my valves/ports and freshen it up with a top-end rebuild.

I bought an 82' Suzuki GS450T from a friend in St. Clair Shores,Mi. which I traveled out to from here by train in April 18'.
The man had found this Quicksilver fairing #12-029287 for sale on Marketplace and gone to pick it up for me before I arrived.
I spent some time in Mi. getting the bike running well and installing this Quicksilver and modifying/welding the frame bracket(originally from a Yamaha XJ550)to fit my 82' Suzuki GS450T;I then rode it back to Ca. on a special 'Move Ticket' and got it registered here when I arrived.
I sold that 82' GS450T model in 19' because I wanted a GS450E model rather than the 'T' ;it took me 5 years to finally locate one.
I removed the Quicksilver and put it in my bedroom for the duration until I found this 81' GS450E model recently.

question: I have the tall windscreen and the fairing screen mounts seem to flex quite a bit in these winds we get out here;I also noticed at night-time riding that the headlight seems to have a bit of movement to it when I ride and hit different road bumps, etc.
I would like to get the fairing braced? somehow so it would stay more steady, even with the tall screen, which I like.

I hope to improve the headlight as the headlight it came with was a sealed beam;I just found a Bosch H4 headlight which has the removable H4 bulb w/ P43-T socket.
I realize this is actually made for an automobile with the design of the lens, but so far,I haven't found a better 5x7" rectangular bulb to install in this fairing which is legal and 'motorcycle specific', i.e. a motorcycle specific bulb has a lens which concentrates the beam in a certain pattern which is meant for a vehicle with only one headlight.
I want to start a thread here about improving the headlight on my Quicksilver. thanks,Bill
