Hey all, I'm Mike from Maryland. I have a 1982 Suzuki gs1100l. Are there any tricks for installing a vetter ss fairing? I have the bracket and wire harness. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do you have the instructions that go along with the bracket and the harness? If so, there are no tricks beyond that. Also, your fairing may or may not have the optional horn kit.

If you don't have the instructions, let me know and I can send them to you. I have two Suzukis with Windjammers; a 1978 GS750 and a 1978 GS550. They fit, look, and function great on both.

Hey ,I appreciate that. I have the 9 point wire harness and the bracket to mount it. I just picked up a 81 gs850. It needs alot of work. Basically everything needs to be inspected or replaced. The head if off with box of parts. So this will be a project, but I would like to put that fairing on that bike. Thanks again.

Sounds like a great project, but it also sounds like you have a long road ahead. The GS series Suzukis are easy to work on, and Suzuki has one of the best legacy parts programs, so parts are usually easy to get. Is '81 still carburetor, or had they gone to fuel injection by then?

If you need help with the fairing let me know. I have restored a couple of them.

Hi from across the pond.

I've got a '79 gs850g with windjammer V, fantastic combination. I made my own mount by cutting up a Honda 750 one in the end. It pushed the fairing futher forward than usual but meant I could keep the headlight fully assembled behind.

I do alot of short distance rides in the summer so take the fairing off fairly regularly. I've got the wiring harness connected behind the original light using factory Suzuki connectors. The only thing needed when swapping over is the indicators which I keep in the lockable pouch so I can change on the fly. Radio & 12v I wired directly to the battery (fused) so I can use when setting up camp etc.
