SOLD: Pair of Polk DB401 4" speakers / grilles - $30 plus shipping from NJ

Well, pretty sure I read on this forum from a couple people that the "Vetter Sound" grills (silver wrinkle finish ring with black mesh and "Vetter" Chrome emblems in the center) would not work with them due to the tweeter, which is raised too high (seemed obvious too to me, though I admit I did...

SOLD: Pair of Polk DB401 4" speakers / grilles - $30 plus shipping from NJ

Hi, decided I HAD to go back to stock Vetter speaker grilles, and thus bought a different set of speakers (J&M USK-9000s actually). Hence these are for sale. They are in perfect shape; see pic below. I will try to ship as inexpensively as I can. No screws are included. If interested, please PM...

WANTED: NOS or near perfect Drag Specialties Early Goldwing (GL1000/1100) Valve cover

Excellent advice; I have indeed joined that site and Steve Saunder's site as well in order to place want ads. I am saturation bombing the net, one might say!

WANTED: NOS or near perfect Drag Specialties Early Goldwing (GL1000/1100) Valve cover

That advice is greatly appreciated, however the valve covers on my bike are pot metal rather than aluminum and can't be polished. And being that it's my Dad's old bike and I am slavishly devoted to keeping it as he had it, I can't switch to the aluminum covers as they are not quite the same...

    Interesting Non Vetter Fairing

Not sure about the fairing, but the luggage looks like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1981-Bates-Uncommon-carriers-Honda-Goldwing-original-print-ad-/111496446721?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19f5b4c301

WANTED: NOS or near perfect Drag Specialties Early Goldwing (GL1000/1100) Valve cover

Wasn't sure where to put this want ad, as I did not see the perfectly appropriate forum for it. Anyway, I found a brand new one, and now need another (the other aint bad, but compared to the new one....well, it just won't do, haw haw). Even looked into re-chroming, but being pot-metal, that...

Looking for very nice right side GOLD edging from Nightstalker or Regal Edition fairing

As mentioned in another thread, I came up with a solution to the damaged gold trim and thus no longer need any.

    WJ Night Stalker

Too funny, here's a GL1100 equipped with a WJ5 Nightstalker right here in NJ (if I'm seeing it right, this one has the gold edge trim, but the lowers are chrome): http://newjersey.craigslist.org/mcy/4726353458.html Pity these bikes have so little intrinsic value; that said, mine is priceless...

Smart phones for music - like it was made for it

Yes, so once again, Mr. Vetter is proven to be a visionary; as smoking has become a less popular habit in the last few decades, the cigarette lighter provision has "transmogrified" into a conveniently located power port.:)

I provided an Ebay link above to the chrome version most others could use; the stuff I bought was: http://www.ebay.com/itm/131307438284?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT The 10mm width is apparently unusual in Gold, and I could only seem to find from this vendor or a...

    Get Rid of the UGLY!!!!

This thread inspired me to look for my Dad's old Stanley garage door opener from when I was a teenager. which I saved for 24+ years in one of his tool boxes. Now that I found his old bike, I reunited them (really just for the purpose of the photo...I don't even have an automatic opener). I must...

Smart phones for music - like it was made for it

Noting that the straps on the soft vinyl compartment cover on the left side of the fairing are such that the top one is "open" and the bottom one is sewn at the lower edge, my Iphone fits in there quite snugly / securely (I may also add a little double sided velcro tape for peace of mind). I...

VetterXS, most kind. I'm thinking people with the more typical chrome edging could do the same thing. It was an exceedingly inexpensive repair. And amazingly, it not only has the same width as the original stuff, it has the same height / "rolled" profile as well. Here's the equivalent stuff to...

Also, here's some shots of the bike after some spit-shining and after replacing the right side saddlebag, faux tank and right side exhaust pipe with better pieces.

Well, I bought some flexible gold trim in 10mm (0.4 inch) width, an exact match to the gold inlay on my WJ5 Nightstalker. Stuff was cheap, like 13 bucks for 15 meters of it! I then cut out the buggered up section of trim on my fairing and installed the new stuff, using the backing tape and a...

New Vetter Equipped Goldwing owner (again, sort of)

Terry Krumm; he has since retired. I chose the paint and leather scheme, extra chrome, etc. based on recollections of my Dad's own plans to restore it.

New Vetter Equipped Goldwing owner (again, sort of)

Still have chills over getting this bike back. Was perusing craigvetter.com and saw that at one time he designed a helmet that looked like a 1940s Indian front fender. That prompted me to share another couple pics: 1. me on my Dad's OTHER bike at the time of his passing, a '47 Indian. You can...

Thanks, while I do like the looks of the Vetter luggage, Dad dressed the bike this way in the early 80s, and that is how it will stay. I have secured a nicer right side KG saddlebag, actually, and the missing right side tank/shelter emblem, but otherwise plan to preserve the bike pretty much as...
