I do know that DIN originated in Europe, Germany if I'm not mistaken.
Internationally 1984, according to this, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_7736
However, I'm sure they were gradually appearing on the European market before that, with Blaupunkt being one of the first to be available in DIN, as a dealer fitment / upgrade, usually on Mercs and Jags. Oh, the fun involved in carefully enlarging the dash holes to take the DIN cage, on a v. expensive car.

That was me, by the way - I forgot my login so had to open a new a/c as a temp measure. Back to normal service, now. :)

I just recently acquired a Windjammer SS with the radio kit and lowers off a 78 CB750K, and it's a 2 piece.

I would like to find a manual as well. I shall start my quest!
I don't know if you ever found a manual or not, but I got this one along with a bunch of other Vetter Literature with my last purchase.

That's really cool, but when I zoom in they're too blurry to read effectively.
Could you post a clear scan if you get the chance?
