I am writing the definitive book on the Windjammer Fairing and need your help. Every Windjammer had a serial number plate with a specific number. The number is stamped into the aluminum plug plate. Over the years, I have been able to collect numbers for the following fairings:

Windjammer: Lowest known #1,000; highest known #9,161
Windjammer II: Lowest known #13,648; highest known #43,986
Windjammer III: Lowest known #50,212; highest known #91,830
Midway, we changed to 09 prefix. Lowest known# 09-10,286 ; highest known #09-136,005

Windjammer SS: Lowest known #24-200,459; highest known #24-281,175
Windjammer 4: Lowest known # 37-198,281; highest known # 37-563,595
Windjammer 5: Lowest known #63-100,377; highest known #63-180,823

Vindicator (1978) Lowest known # 31-300,849; highest known #31-605,461
Vindicator (1979 up) Lowest known #39-557,352; highest known #39-566,480

Kawasaki by Vetter Lowest known #K32-101,101; highest known #K32-126,686

Please let my know if you come across lower or higher numbers. Photo documentation would be good if you can. I think you are going to like this book.

Thank you so much Craig

I've just picked up a Suzuki GS1000G with Windjammer V and rear panniers, originally I thought it was a Windjammer IV as it doesn't have the headlight surround, but the ID plate confirms it's a 5, I guess the headlight surround is missing, although it doesn't look out of place. How was it fitted, there's no holes, was it bonded?

I can see form the list it's not the highest number, 63-161809

It's now in the UK, the bike was imported in 1996, I'm guessing with this lot attached at the time.

I hadn't noticed a plate on the luggage, I'll take a closer look and update the serial numbers on those once I have it.

Found saddle bags with 29-23601. Even lower than Craig's numbers?

I fell in love with them when i saw the last pic on the site. Called a buddy who i know has a bunch of early goldwing stuff. He ended up having a few knock off la mantas farings and this old beat up blue sparkly vetter i loved it and had to have it. Come to find out it its a windjammer 2. Cant wait to get this guy finished and find some lowers, a vetter sound system and a trunk let the hunt begin.

Thanks for sharing! I really love the WJ2 and WJ3's. The classic style turn signals just do it for me. Don't get me wrong, I love the embedded ones too.

That's why I had to pick up a Vindicator first chance I got, those lines without turn signals....
