Idaho Bound

Well, finally found a place to relocate and start living again. Heading from Bakersfield, CA to Coeur d'Alene Idaho. The family and I have been living in a travel trailer for months pending decision of relocation. I am looking forward to having a garage again and starting a new Vetter project. I am still dreaming of a XS11 Midnight Special with a Windjammer Nightstalker.

Our new home is in escrow currently and due to close in early December. All this pending on me surviving the mortgage underwriter not killing me with more paperwork requests. Does it ever stop? I think I have given them 500+ documents already!

Well! I have landed in Idaho officially. The wife got here a few weeks before me, as I had to tie up lose ends in Bakersfield. I still have my business in Bakersfield. Being an internet company gives me the ability to pretty much do my job from anywhere.

There is a shed out back that I am going to turn into my workshop. It would give me room to work on one bike project at a time. Its not the biggest as far as space goes. Ill take some pics and start another thread. I guess I should call it the Workshed not shop.

Almost time to unpack Vetter goodies.

Now I just need a bike!

I personally would pick Lewiston Idaho. The rivers intersect is amazing, and I love trees! I am not very familiar with Enterprise, however the pics look fun. Looks to be more flat rolling hills like.

Enterprise is just south of Hells Canyon Park so there's lotsa trees, and the hunting is awesome!! VERY rural area surrounded by BLM land

Congrats on the move! I've been absent from the board for awhile as I just relocated as well. Moved to the Denver, CO area for school.

More police stuff? or you going in another direction?

Stepping out of the policing world for now. I'm attending a gunsmithing school. I've always enjoyed working on firearms, so I figured I'd look into making it a career. Plans are to get educated and head back to Kansas to open up a shop. I guess I'll see how feasible that is with the current political fiasco...

Well congrats, and thanks for the time in service. That sounds like a good plan. Get the knowledge, then use it. Is Kansas a fairing gun supporting state? or is the town you are going to do it in? Here in Idaho its very pro 2nd amendment. Is California not so much. Here you get a free handgun in every box of cereal!

Thank you! Kansas is a very pro 2nd amendment state as well. The area where I live has been without a professional gunsmith for a number of years and everyone I talked to was looking forward to having one back in the area. It's also a prime hunting area, so I feel like I would do alright if I get a shop opened up. I've been in school since January 8th and I've already learned so much.

Thats super cool! Best of luck to you and your new adventure. I am sure you will kick ass and end up right where you want to be. In the midst of all this garbage going on I joined the NRA. I have always supported them, but not been a member. I feel now more than any was a good time. I did a 5 year membership.

Thank you! I was the same way, I always supported them, but never joined. One of the requirements for the school is to be an NRA member, so I signed up for a 5 year as well. I'm still in the "basics" section of school, where all of our projects are being done using hand tools and occasionally a grinder, drill press, or buffing wheel. It's tedious but a great foundation for the projects later on.
